More TVD tutorials, for biggestparafan, from my post here

The vampire diaries is mostly dimly lit. It irritates me, but here's some lighting at least.

#one.

This uses two images. The good thing about the vampire diaries' lighting is that it is so easy to cut onto a black background. A lazy cutter's dream! YAY. So I cut out her head from two different images, layered over each other. We'll start from there.

one. add some colour!
selective color:
reds; -51, +18, +55, 0
yellows; -40, +30, +64, 0

two.
hue/saturation:
master; +5, 0, 0

three.
texture: also by innocent_lexys
multiply 100% (ads light and colour, you'll see)

four.
curves:
RGB; 93, 157

five. highlights!
texture: again, I make my own blur textures (see here:). use: screen 100%

six. text
times, #d0aa7b, pt 12. (i'm)
times, #d0aa7b, pt 9. (yours)
lined so that they are parallel.

seven. blending
hide the previous three layers. copy merge. paste (and reveal previous layers). soft light 40%.

channel mixer:
red; +100, -6, -24

four. still too dark.
curves:
RGB; 115, 176

five. more reds please.
selective color:
reds; -18, +19, 0, +33
magentas; 0, +31, 0, +29
blacks; 0, 0, 0, +14

six. level colours.
color balance:
midtones; +33, +20, +12

seven. darken the lines.
levels:
RGB; 15, 1.00, 255

eight. add some light.
gradient tool, linear gradient, #877e80 & #ffffff on about a 45° angle.
